The London Underground is to be patrolled by armed teams of British Transport Police to counter terrorist attack it was announced.
The measure is not being introduced for anything specific but Transport secretary Philip Hammond said it was a precautionary measure so they could respond to a terrorism threat at any given time.
The British transport Police (BTP) wont be in use all the time but will have special trained teams that can be deployed as and when to ensure the safety on our rail and London underground network.
