Longest Match Ever!
Wimbledon in SW London, saw the longest tennis match ever played in Grand Slam History over the weekend. American John Fisher finally beat Frenchman, Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 3-6. 6-7, 7-6, 70-68 and received a standing ovation from a hot and packed Court 18.
The match lasted an incredible eleven hours and five minutes, spread over three days. Though at times both players looked exhausted they both insisted that they were not feeling tired and thanked the crowd for their fantastic support.
Both Tennis players will go down in history and they received a crystal bowl and champagne flutes from the All England Club to mark their amazing feat that is unlikely to be repeated.
