Have you seen the new British electric supercar prototype? We girls aren’t into cars like you guys but we had to be impressed with this eco baby. Designed and built by Energy Futures Lab team from our very own Imperial College London.
Called SRZERO the electric car combines racing performance with new green technology. It has an incredible range of 480km (300 mile) with power coming from two 550V electric motors which produce the equivalent of around 400bhp between them.
To demonstrate this incredible range it will be driven non-stop twice around the M25 orbital motorway. If all goes well the team hope to drive it from Land’s End to John O’Groats and then later from Alaska to Argentina in an attempt to change peoples perception of electric vehicles.
Is this the shape of things to come? We hope so as it has a unbelievably low running cost of a mere 8p a mile. Please no, “where do you put the battery gags”
